Questions people ask
Is my video uploaded?
No. The captions tool runs a speech model inside your browser, so the video stays on your computer. The model downloads once and is cached.
Why does it open on another site?
Captions runs on captions.moxisynclabs.com because it needs a large speech model and its own settings. Drop the same file there; it still never leaves your device.
Which formats work?
Most MP4, MOV, WebM, MP3, WAV and M4A files that your browser can play.
