Most "compress PDF" sites give you one button and whatever size comes out. Forms don't work that way: the portal says under 200 KB or between 50 and 300 KB, and a file 3 KB over is rejected. Here you set the size and the tool works back from it, trying settings until it finds the clearest file that fits.
It runs on your phone or computer. Your PDF is not uploaded, there is no queue and no sign-up, and you can compress up to five files at once.

What makes a PDF big, and what we do about it
Scans and photos are nearly always the reason. A phone scan stores each page as a large photo, often 300 dpi or more, when 150 dpi reads perfectly on screen and in print. We re-save those images at a lower resolution and JPEG quality, choosing the pair that keeps them sharpest within your target.
Fonts come next. Some apps embed a whole font, thousands of letters, to show a few dozen. We cut those fonts down to the letters the document uses, which changes nothing you can see.
Leftovers: old edits, duplicate copies of the same image, thumbnails and hidden metadata. They go first, before any image is touched, because removing them costs no quality.
When a target can't be reached
A PDF of plain typed text is already compact; there may be nothing left to squeeze. If your target is out of reach we say so, show the smallest file we could make, and offer the two things that still work: black and white for scanned pages (about a third of the size), or turning pages into images, which goes smaller still but means the text can no longer be selected. You choose; we never flatten your text without asking.
Private by design
The compressing happens inside your browser using pdf-lib and Mozilla's pdf.js, so the file never leaves your device. That matters for the documents people usually shrink: marksheets, ID proofs, bank statements, medical reports. Close the tab and nothing remains.
How to do it
- Add your PDF: drop it, paste it, or choose it. Add up to five for a batch.
- Pick a target size, or choose your exam or portal in Form or portal to load its limit.
- Wait a few seconds. The readout shows the new size against the target.
- Check the pages in the preview at 100% zoom. Then press Download PDF, or Download all for a batch.

Questions people ask
How do I reduce PDF size without losing quality?
Set the target as high as the portal allows. The tool first removes things that cost no quality (unused data, duplicates, whole fonts, metadata) and only then lowers image resolution and quality, and only as far as the target needs. If the PDF is already under the target it is left as it is.
Will my text still be selectable?
Yes, by default. Text, links and vector drawings are kept as they are; only images are re-saved. Pages are turned into images only if you untick "Keep text selectable", and only when that is the only way to reach the target.
Why is my PDF still big?
If it is mostly text it may already be close to its smallest size. The readout says what was found: if there were no images to shrink, the only remaining ways down are removing pages or turning pages into images.
Can I compress several PDFs at once?
Yes, up to five at a time, all to the same target. Each one gets its own result and preview, and you can download them one by one or together as a ZIP.
Is there a file size limit?
Up to 200 MB per PDF. Very large files take longer, because all the work happens on your own device.
Is my PDF uploaded?
No. It is opened and compressed in your browser. Nothing is sent to a server, so it also works on a slow connection once the page has loaded.
