How to create your Google review link

  1. Find your business. Paste your Google Maps link, your Business Profile’s “Ask for reviews” link (g.page/r/…) or your Place ID into step 1. No link handy? Use Search by name to open your business in Google Maps, then copy its link.
  2. Check the link. The tool shows your review link and whether it opens the review form directly or your listing. Tap Test it on your phone.
  3. Make it yours. Add your business name, a headline, colours and your logo.
  4. Download. Get the QR code, a 4 × 6 in counter card, a fold-over table tent or a sticker sheet as PNG, SVG or PDF. Or copy a ready-made text, WhatsApp or email message.

We don’t expand short links or look your business up for you. That keeps the tool free and private: the link is worked out in your browser from what you paste.

Where to put your review link

  • At the counter or till: the 4 × 6 card fits a standard acrylic sign holder.
  • On tables: the table tent folds from one sheet of paper and reads from both sides.
  • On things that leave with the customer: stickers on invoices, takeaway bags, packaging and job folders.
  • After the job: a text or WhatsApp message the same day, and once more a few days later if they haven’t had a chance.
  • In every email: a one-line link in your email signature.

Asking for reviews within Google’s rules

Google’s policy bans reviews that are bought, incentivised or filtered. In practice: ask every customer the same way, ask for an honest review rather than a five-star one, offer nothing in return, and let customers post from their own phone. The tool checks your headline and call to action for wording that breaks these rules, and the message templates follow them.

Questions people ask

What is a Google review link?

A web address that opens the “write a review” box for your business on Google. A customer taps it, picks a rating and writes their review, without having to search for you first. The most direct version is built from your Place ID: https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by the ID.

Is this Google review link generator free?

Yes. There is no sign-up, no trial and no watermark. The link, QR code, cards, table tents, stickers and message templates are all built in your browser, and every download is free.

Do I need a Google API key?

No. Paste a Google Maps link, your Business Profile’s review link or your Place ID and the tool builds the link from that. We don’t call Google to look you up, so there is no key and no cost.

Will the link change or stop working?

A Place ID review link keeps working as long as your listing exists. Google occasionally refreshes Place IDs for a listing; if that happens, the old link still opens your profile. Test your link once a year, and after you change your business name or address.

Should I use the g.page link or the Place ID link?

Either opens the review form. The g.page/r/… link comes straight from your Business Profile’s “Ask for reviews” button, so it is the safest choice if you manage the profile. The Place ID link works for any business on Google Maps, which helps agencies and staff who aren’t profile owners.

Can I offer a discount for a review?

No. Google doesn’t allow anything in exchange for a review, and it can remove reviews or restrict a profile that does. Ask every customer for an honest review with nothing in return. The templates in the tool are written that way.

Why does my link open my profile instead of the review form?

Your link carried only a map feature ID, not a Place ID. It still works: customers tap “Write a review” on your profile. For a one-tap link, paste your Place ID from Google’s Place ID Finder or the g.page/r/… link from your Business Profile.
