What goes on a electrical estimate
Electrical work is priced by task and by the hour, and homeowners rarely know what a breaker or a circuit run involves. A line-by-line estimate (panel, breakers, the circuit with its wire gauge and length, devices, fixtures, materials, permit) shows the work behind the number.
Put your licence number in the business section so it prints on every estimate and invoice; many customers and some jurisdictions expect to see it.

- Note utility fees for disconnect and reconnect as a pass-through at cost.
- For EV chargers, write the charger model and circuit size so the customer can check compatibility.
Questions people ask
What goes on an electrical estimate?
Your licence number, the job address, each task with its materials (panel, breakers, circuits, devices, fixtures), labour, permit and inspection, exclusions such as drywall repair, the total, deposit and how long the price stands.
Can I show a price for each circuit?
Yes. Add one line per circuit with the room or appliance in the detail field, or one line “New circuit run” with a quantity. Both print cleanly.
Do I need my licence number on an electrical estimate?
Many states and cities require a licence number on bids and advertising for electrical work; check your licensing board. Put it in your business details once and it prints on every estimate and invoice.
How do I handle permit and inspection fees?
List the permit as its own line, at cost or with your handling fee, and say in the notes that work is subject to inspection. The template’s terms include “All work to code and subject to inspection where required.”
Can I turn the estimate into an invoice when the job is done?
Yes. Click “Turn into invoice”. The client, scope and prices carry over, the estimate number is noted on the invoice, and any deposit you asked for is shown as received so the invoice shows the balance due.
