The short answer

If you manage the business on Google, the quickest way is Business Profile → Ask for reviews → copy link. If you don’t, copy the business’s Google Maps link or its Place ID and paste it into the generator above, which builds the direct review link for you.

Way 1: From your Google Business Profile

  1. Sign in to the Google account that manages your Business Profile.
  2. Search for your business name on Google, or open it in Google Maps. Your profile appears with owner controls.
  3. Choose Ask for reviews (sometimes labelled Get more reviews).
  4. Copy the link. It looks like https://g.page/r/AbCdEf123/review.

This link comes from Google itself and opens the review form directly. Paste it into step 1 above to make QR codes and cards with it.

Way 2: From Google Maps

  1. Open Google Maps on a computer and search for the business.
  2. Click the business so its panel opens on the left.
  3. Copy the full address from the browser’s address bar. It starts https://www.google.com/maps/place/.
  4. Paste it into step 1 above.

On a phone, tap Share then Copy link. That gives a short maps.app.goo.gl link, which hides the details we need: open it in your browser, then copy the full address it turns into.

Most full Maps links carry the Place ID, and the tool makes a link that opens the review form. Some carry only a map ID; then the link opens your listing, where customers tap Write a review. The tool tells you which you got.

Way 3: From your Place ID

  1. Open Google’s free Place ID Finder.
  2. Type the business name into the search box on the map and pick it from the list.
  3. Copy the Place ID from the pop-up. Business IDs usually start with ChIJ.
  4. Paste it into step 1 above. Your link will be https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= followed by the ID.

Test your link before you share it

Open the link on your phone. You should land on the review box with your business name at the top. Test from a phone that isn’t signed in as the business owner too, since owners can’t review their own business.

What to do with the link

  • Turn it into a Google review QR code for your counter, tables and packaging.
  • Send it by text, WhatsApp or email after each job or visit. The SMS & email tab above has templates.
  • Add it to your email signature and the thank-you page of your website.

Ask every customer the same way, ask for an honest review and offer nothing in return. Those are Google’s rules, and they protect the reviews you already have.

Questions people ask

Where is the review link in Google Business Profile?

Sign in with the Google account that manages your profile and search for your business name on Google or open it in Google Maps. In the profile panel, choose “Ask for reviews” (it may also show as “Get more reviews”), then copy the link. It starts g.page/r/.

How do I get a Google review link if I don’t own the profile?

Find the business on Google Maps and paste its link into the tool, or look up its Place ID in Google’s free Place ID Finder. The tool turns either into a direct review link. This is how staff, agencies and web designers usually do it.

How do I find my Google Place ID?

Open Google’s Place ID Finder (on Google’s developer site), type your business name in the map’s search box and pick it from the list. The ID appears in the pop-up and usually starts with ChIJ. Copy it and paste it into the tool.

Why doesn’t the maps.app.goo.gl link work in the tool?

Short links hide the place details until they are opened. Open the short link in your browser, wait for Google Maps to load, and copy the full address from the address bar. Paste that instead.

Can I get a review link from the Google Maps app on my phone?

Yes, in a couple of steps. In the app, open your business, tap Share, then Copy link. Paste that link into your phone’s browser, let Google Maps open, then copy the full web address and paste it here. On a computer, copying from the address bar is quicker.

Is the review link the same for every customer?

Yes. One link works for everyone. Customers who aren’t signed in to Google are asked to sign in before they can post.
