The DGIP online passport portal wants a 35×45 mm photo with a white background, and the file must not exceed 20 KB. That limit is the hard part: a normal phone photo is 2 to 5 MB.
The tool frames your head to 29 to 34 mm, whitens the background on your device, and then searches for the highest JPEG quality that still fits under 20 KB. If needed it lowers the pixel size a little. The result card shows the exact size of the file you got.
