How it works
The guntha (gunta in Karnataka and Telangana) is one-fortieth of an acre: a square of one survey chain (33 ft) on each side, 1,089 sq ft or 121 sq yd. The Maharashtra State Gazetteer, the Karnataka High Court and the national land-records data standard all give the same figure. Land records show it as acre–guntha, for example 2 acres 15 gunthas.
