The JEE (Main) 2027 information bulletin from NTA asks for a colour photo of 10 to 200 KB in JPG, with your face (no mask) filling about 80% of it, ears visible, on a white background, and a clearly legible JPG signature of 10 to 100 KB. It gives no pixel size. A live photo is also captured while you fill in the form.
The JEE Main photo preset turns on Whiten the background for a plain wall behind you. Switch to the signature preset for the second file; Signature mode cleans the paper and makes the ink black.
The face rule (about 80% of the photo, ears visible, white background) and the 10–200 KB limit are the same as NEET (UG) 2026, so the NEET photo and signature maker can frame your face for JEE too; check its output against the JEE bulletin before you upload.
Certificate PDFs, such as the Class 10 or PwD certificate, have a separate 50–300 KB window: compress certificate PDFs to 50–300 KB.

How to do it
- Take a photo against a plain light wall, facing the camera, ears visible, no mask.

How it hits the size
The tool saves your image as a JPG again and again at different quality levels, halving the gap each time, until it finds the highest quality that fits under the maximum. That takes about ten tries and usually well under a second. If you set an exact pixel size it never changes it; with "Any size" it shrinks the pixels instead of letting the picture go blocky.
Forms disagree on whether 1 KB is 1,000 or 1,024 bytes, so we count the maximum as 1,000 bytes and the minimum as 1,024. A file that passes our check passes either way. If your image is too simple to reach a minimum even at top quality, we add blank data inside the file (a JPEG comment) to reach it; the picture does not change.
